TFG Group were proud to be awarded the contract to install the mechanical piping component of Bandag’s plant upgrade in Wacol, QLD. The factory is responsible for producing raw materials for Bridgestone tyre products and the project consisted of an upgrade to the extruder and mill lines.

The 6-week project consisted of the supply and installation of:

• All pipework and fittings in 316L grade stainless steel
• 3-piece 316L grade stainless steel ball valves
• 50mm polyurethane injection insulation with aluminium cladding

Due to the flammable nature of the materials used in the tyre production process, the scope specified a specific joining technique using stainless steel crimping. TFGs experience in this technique ensured the client’s requirements could be met without compromising on safety or quality of the finished installation.

To guarantee the highest quality installation and reduce time on site, the TFG team pre-assembled and fit all pipework off-site to complete quality checks and non-destructive testing. The pipework was them labelled, dis-assembled, and transported to site for a seamless installation on time and on budget.
