UHT & GLASSLINE INSTALLATION, Richlands
Coca-Cola Amatil Facilities Expansion

Client: Coca-Cola Amatil
Year: 2018-2019
Industry: Beverages
Location: Queensland

A $165 million expansion at the CCA Richlands site has allowed the plant to increase production to 90 million unit cases of drink each year. TFG Group was awarded the mechanical installation of the new dairy and juice processing system with Tetra Pak and the installation of the new glass bottling line for Krones. Both initiatives will increase production capacity, deliver optimal materials handling and increase revenue sales for the Richlands bottling and new warehouse facility.

TFG installed and commissioned the new UHT processing system to expand the aseptic dairy capacity. The upgrade and expansion involved increasing capacity to 11 lines to allow for the flavoured milk aseptic Tetra system. The new system was designed and installed to be integrated into the existing facility at the Richlands site. New processing equipment was installed linking the aseptic storage tank and all aseptic product feed lines to the new aseptic bottle filler. The mechanical installation involved the install of two new CIP modules to allow the lines to be operational in the new dairy system.

TFG installed the Krones glass line in a highly critical four month timeline for the expanding factory at Richlands. TFG provided all process pipework and services to the filler line incorporating the pipe and fitting to the syrup tank and blender. This installation was successfully completed within the timeframe and in a fully operational plant with no lost production time. To achieve this, TFG ran process pipes 220 metres in a span across existing lines with the installation of specialised scaffolding above existing operational lines and equipment. The project which spanned a nine month period had zero LTI and MTI’s and the standard of safety and quality assurance was impeccable as provided by TFG and our specialised workforce.
