- PROJECT AURORA – TANK FARM
- PROJECT SCOPE
- CPVC INSTALLATION
- QUALITY ASSURED
The first of many contracts at CSL’s Broadmeadows facility for Project Aurora, the scope included the fabrication, installation and documentation of the tank farm piping works. The tank farm supports the main storage for raw liquids required for the processing plant as well as waste products to be treated prior to sewer discharge.
TFG worked alongside CSL to develop a detailed design, offering advice on project elements such as the most effective connection method to eliminate future issues. The following process service systems required connection by the experience TFG project team:
- Plant 658: NaOH 9.2M Sodium hydroxide solution
- Plant 661: HAc 13M Acetic acid solution
- Plant 663: HNO3 5.6M Nitric acid solution
- Plant 674: HCl 10M Hydrochloric acid solution
- Plant 692: Effluent Collection & Treatment
Due to the chemicals and corrosive compounds stored within the tank farm, much of the pipework for the project was Chlorinated Poly Vinyl Chloride (CPVC). TFG installed approximated 300m of CPVC piping in small proximity around the tanks, completing 7,600 hours on site incident free and ahead of schedule.
All works were performed and documented to International & Australian Standards using our in-house QA procedures and in accordance with our ISO 9001 accreditation. All materials were designed to meet ASME/BPE specifications and full traceability was supplied for all fittings and weld maps. Welds were documented to ASME BPE 2012 Bioprocessing Equipment Standard.
